So you’re getting married? First and foremost, congratulations to you both at this exciting times and thank you for inquiring about my wedding celebrant services!
I am a storyteller at heart and firmly believe that you should be able to celebrate your big day in a way that reflects you both as a couple and feels right to you. For this reason I enjoy presiding over a very limited number of ceremonies each year. My ceremonies are handcrafted and unique to you, celebrating your love, your story and your values.
If I sound like the celebrant you might be looking for, let’s start by setting up a meeting.
Our first meeting is a no obligation, stress free meet and greet, usually over coffee, where you can ask me any questions you might have and make sure you’ll feel comfortable working with me.
From that point, if you decide you would like to go ahead and book me, I will then send you some information, ideas and questions to consider prior to our second meeting which is where you get to tell me your stories and ideas for the wedding and I can go away and begin crafting your ceremony. I will then be in contact via email and will send you copies of the ceremony so that we can tweak it if need be and ensure their are no surprises or cringe worthy moments on the day. If you are having a wedding rehearsal (which I highly recommend) I prefer to be present at that too so we are all on the same page on the day.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: Are you happy perform same sex weddings?
A: Absolutely YES!!
Q: What about overseas weddings?
A: I can legally only preside over weddings in New Zealand, however there are some options I can help you with depending on exactly what it is that you are after.
Q: Do you organise and apply for our marriage license on our behalf?
A: No, you both must apply for your own marriage licence. You will be given two copies of the license and after the wedding you will retain one copy and I lodge the the other copy with Births, Deaths and Marriages.
Q: Can you witness and/or certify some other documents for me while you’re at it?
A: No I’m sorry, I am a marriage celebrant and can officiate weddings however I am not a justice of the peace so I can’t help you with you with anything along those lines I am afraid.
